Serving the people of Deanshanger

I was born in the village and with the exception of a couple of years I have been here ever since. It was really important to me to raise my children here and I have been a part of the PTA's at the local Preschool and School. I've always enjoyed organising events and this was crucial to raise funds for equipment and projects to benefit the children.

Professionally I was the Director and Company Secretary of our family business. Since 2020 I have been a Member Pioneer for the Coop, connecting stores with their communities. I had a part to play in Deanshanger Community Fridge opening, supporting them through the Coop with our surplus food. Through this job I have come to know far more groups in the village, which led me to become involved with Deanshanger Good Neighbours.

Initially I attended in my Coop capacity but was soon putting myself forward for extra responsibility. Our village Pride event was my idea and four successful years later I'm now Chair of our planning committee. I'm really keen to make sure those groups that are underrepresented in the village have their voices heard, this is something that I would like to bring to the Parish Council. I manage the Deanshanger Good Neighbours Facebook page and produce a weekly update of what's going on in the village.

More recently I have joined the Deanshanger Emergency Response Team taking on the Communications role and again helping them with their social media.

Socially I support all of the venues in the village and very rarely leave the village for a night out. I have a dog that needs lots of exercise so I walk the village on a daily basis. Most of my family live in the village so we spend a lot of time together, we can often be found in The Coffee Stop catching up over a cuppa.
